Delivery
REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF
We really do understand that a lot of the time we are delivering VIPs – Very Important Presents – and that is a responsibility that we take incredibly seriously. You can rest assured that we are dedicated here to getting it right first time and to doing literally everything we can to ensure that you get what you have ordered as quickly as possible and – crucially – in good time for whenever and whatever it is required. We despatch from our studios on all five working days of the week, but not at the weekend so if you order on a Friday night, the earliest that your order will be despatched is Monday afternoon.
There is a big part of this that is out of our control though and it happens after all the packages have left the studio each day. Royal Mail are brilliant and we love them, but they are not infallible and sometimes things happen that nobody can help. It might be a flood, a broken down train, a grounded plane, a damaged van or an injured man. Weather and volume in the network are the biggest things that slow down orders and this tends to happen most at Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day – exactly the time we know you want things to be on time the most.
There is only really one good solution for this and that is to pay, unfortunately. The only service that provides us with the kind of tracking that we need and the guarantees that you need is our Special Delivery upgrade. So for peace of mind within five working days of any big event in your life you should spend the extra on this service or be happy to take the risk, you daredevil you.
AT YOUR SERVICE
Once we have received your order, the team leap up from their positions of slumber and get straight to it. These are superhuman beings capable of harnessing and packaging daily deliveries of smiles every single darn one of those 365 days in any given year. And in a leap year – you’ve guessed it – they do it 366 times. Amazing. Powered by chocolate and good strong coffee there is no limit to the extent of their abilities. Hop on over to our Facebook page or Instagram if you want to find out more about this groovy gang. You can also see a video of our studios in despatch mode here.
UK
We charge a flat £4.95 for our standard postage within the UK on all baskets. Standard postage uses the Royal Mail which aims to deliver all items within 2-3 days of posting. Please note that this is not a guaranteed service and should only be used if you are not worried about when an item is going to arrive. This is particularly important around big events like Christmas when we really recommend you upgrade to Next-Day/Special to avoid disappointment. We reserve the right to vary our carriers and timescales according to seasonal demand.
WORLDWIDE DELIVERY
Again, in the interests of simplicity we have a single flat rate, regardless of order value, but depending on which country you live in. The charge for this is £12.50 for EU (up to 10 working days) and £19.50 for World Zones 1 & 2 (up to 14 working days). To figure out which zone you live in, check here.
UK SPECIAL
This one is not quite a unicorn, but it’s pretty blooming close. If it absolutely has to be there by a certain day then pick NEXT DAY at check out. Not only does this sound a klaxon in the studio, it will also bump your order up to the top of the queue and – if you checkout before 2pm – your order will be dispatched by Royal Mail Special Delivery the same day, subject to artwork being completed and signed off.
Delivery is pre-1pm next-day and fully tracked all the way. A signature is required on arrival with your postman.
Before Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, this one is a life-saver for all the last-minute Larrys and Lorraines. It is genuinely your get out of jail card. Order on Friday morning and be top gift-giver on Sunday because you know your This Is Nessie goodies will be on your doorstep on Saturday morning. No other service will guarantee that.
And at Christmas time, well you normally get two or three days to place an order AFTER the final posting day. And just when Royal Mail is in a meltdown with all the cheapskates who didn’t go for guaranteed, you can sit back and let us take the strain. You might not get it the next day but it will be there in time for Christmas morning.
THE 4:45PM SHUFFLE
The postman comes, every day, at around 4:45pm. At this time of day the studio is an oasis of calm and everyone is sitting around drinking tea and cracking jokes. Not. We are all running around like crazy people trying to make sure that everything is in the bags and accounted for so that the amazing people at Royal Mail can whisk it all off to your letterboxes. Realistically, the last time that we can get something into the post is around 4:30pm. When the postman arrives, he spends at least four minutes talking to Inca and feeding her endless treats. Then he loads his van. If you would like to see what that looks like, click here.
Phew. Time for chocolate.
