30 Summer Activities to Enjoy with your Teenagers
Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time to bond with your teenagers. With the sun shining and school (nearly) out, there’s no better time to create lasting memories. As a mum of four teenagers (eek!), I understand the challenges of keeping the whole family entertained. Here are 30 summer activities that will keep your teens engaged, entertained, and, most importantly, happy.
1. Art Projects: Get creative with some DIY art projects. From painting to crafting, the possibilities are endless.
2. Walking Adventures: We are lucky enough to live in the countryside so love going for country walks! Or if you’re a city dweller why not take a trip to a national trust? Walking is a great way to enjoy nature and stay active, so leave your phones at home, get outside, and enjoy nature!
3. Water Sports: Paddleboarding is very popular these days and there are loads of places around the UK where you can hire paddleboards whether on a lake or at the beach your teens are bound to love it! If you’re like me and can’t balance to save your life give kayaking a go instead! Water sports are thrilling and a fantastic way to cool off.
4. Camping Trips: Whether in the backyard, a campsite or a remote location, camping is an excellent staycation that brings the whole family together!
5. Beach Days: A trip to the beach is always a winner in our house! Pack a picnic and head to the nearest beach for a day of sun, sand, and surf. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
6. Outdoor Movie Nights: With warmer evenings why not set up a projector outside and watch movies under the stars? Don’t forget the popcorn!
7. Volunteering: Find local charities or community events where your teen can volunteer. It’s a rewarding way to spend time and give back.
8. Road Trips: There are so many wonderful places to visit around the UK so plan a little road trip and go and explore! As long as you’ve got a great sing-a-long playlist and some road trip snacks the journey can be as fun as the destination.
9. Amusement Parks: Spend a day at an amusement park like Thorpe Park of Alton Towers. The rides, games, and atmosphere are perfect for teens.
10. Backyard BBQs: When the sun’s out there’s nothing Brits love more than a BBQ so host a backyard BBQ with friends and family. Everyone can chip in and help with the food prep and enjoy each other’s company with good food, refreshing drinks and great music!
11. Fitness Challenges: Create a fitness challenge for the family. It could be running, cycling, or even yoga sessions.
12. Sports Tournaments: Organize a friendly sports tournament with neighbours. Soccer, basketball, or even frisbee can be great options.
